Hi there!

So nice of you to join me!

If you haven’t read my little bio yet, I suggest you do that first, as things will make a bit more sense. If you have, you already know what I’m about, but I hope you’ll still allow me to tell you a bit more about myself and what brought me here.

One year ago, my biggest dream came true: I moved to London, my dream city. I haven’t regretted that decision for one minute. Had I expected my first summer in London to be more about visiting pubs and befriending people and discovering hidden gems and enjoying all that London has to offer and less about watching six seasons of Downton Abbey in one week and heading to the corner shop to buy more cookie dough again? Sure, but I’m still incredibly happy to be here.

I started writing about five years ago, but up until now, apart from the occasional Instagram post or Facebook status, I wrote in Dutch. My non-Dutch-speaking-friends still tried to be supportive (bless them) and would copy-paste my posts into Google translate, which, unsurprisingly, often led to misunderstandings.

A couple of weeks ago, one of them asked me why I didn’t just write in English, since I live in the UK now and it would make so much more sense. I thought about it and decided that it absolutely would make more sense. I think what stopped me before was the fear that my writing wouldn’t be as good in another language, that I would make too many mistakes and that it would all be one embarrassing mess. But the only way to get better is by doing it, so here I am.

I mostly write blog posts and articles, but I have been dreaming about bigger projects. I just need to overcome my insecurities and most of all: I need to stop coming up with excuses and I need to start bloody doing it.

As I said in my bio, I will be posting about many different topics. I will share my wildest stories and my deepest thoughts. If you like my posts, please share the love!

Alright, I think that was enough introduction. Let’s dive right in!

Love,

G.
