Hello and a hearty welcome to you!
I don’t know how you ended up on my website – I like to think it was fate that gave you a little nudge in my direction because you and I were destined to find each other here – but I’m very happy that you did. Welcome! And can I just say, you look absolutely stunning.
I assume that, since you clicked on ‘bio’, you’re hoping to find some kind of introduction about who I am and what I do, and who am I to disappoint? I’m Gladys, originally from Belgium but a proud Londoner since August 2019. Moving to London was my biggest dream since I was about twelve, and fourteen years later I decided to go for it. Best decision ever.
I love books, tattoos, iced coffee, Dr Martens, my cats, not giving a hoot about society’s expectations, travelling, being an LGBTQ+ -ally, and standing up for the things that I believe in.
I’ve been writing for a couple of years, but up until now, I mostly wrote in Dutch. When you’re reading this, I finally decided to give it a go in English.
So what can you expect to find here? I will be writing about life in London, books, relationships, my thoughts on things, self love, and basically about anything that goes on in my brain and in the world. I will also be translating some of my favourite posts from my Dutch blog; my nightmare experience at a stripclub, the time I stayed in the worst apartment in New York City, or when I got scammed for two years. Yep. If you want your regular fix of Schadenfreude, this is the website for you, darling. Moreover, I will share with you my honest opinions and experiences, which will hopefully lead to interesting and important discussions.
What’s next? Well, we’ll have to find out together, won’t we? The world is a mental place and life is a rollercoaster, so if you decide to come visit me once in a while, I promise you we will laugh together, share stories, gasp and sigh and yell and have a jolly good time. Also, if you like what you see, please subscribe, follow me on my socials, tell your friends and family about my stories, send me a message or comment on my posts. If you don’t like what you see, don’t do those things and go somewhere else and have fun over there. You do you boo!
I have no idea what this journey is going to look like, but I know I’m very excited. And I’m thrilled to have you along for the ride.
Love,
G.
